Hello everybody , I am thinking of going to Pinkpop this year. And I want to share my Pinkpop experience from 2 years ago.
First of all a little history about Pinkpop.
Pinkpop is the oldest annual festival in the world according to the Guinness Book of Records. It is held every year during Pentecost weekend. The last couple of years the festival got more then 60000 visitors, on 4 stages there will be performances from world wide know bands but you also can visit some lesser known dutch bands! This festival is awesome its 3 days and nights of party and no sleep. Almost all Pinkpop goers sleep at one of the 3 campings next to the festival terrain, at these campings there are parties during the night everywhere. So at day time you see nice shows of really great bands and at night you can party on!
My own Pinkpop experience:
I went to Pinkpop in 2007. So we went there on Thursday because we wanted to be there in time for the Friday performances. The line up of this year was:
Marilyn Manson,Within Temptation,Juliette And The Licks,Wir Sind HeldenGood Charlotte,C-Mon & Kypski,Stevie Ann,Viberider,Goose The Noissettes,Muse,Snow Patrol,Iggy Pop & The Stooges,Razorlight,Gabriel Rios ,Lost Prophets, Ozark Henry,Gogol Bordello,Paolo Nutini,Ilse Delange,Amy Winehouse,Maximo Park, The Smashing Pumpkins,Linkin Park,Arctic Monkeys,Scissor Sisters,The Magic Numbers,5 O'clock Heroes,The Kooks,Korn,Evanesence,The Dave Matthews Band,The Fratellis,Wolfmother,Macy Gray,30 Seconds To Mars,Maria Mena.
As you can see there where a lot of bands I tried to see as much as possible I went to about 70% of the bands during the whole weekend. I loved korn, Muse , Marilyn Manson, Maximo Park, C-mon- Kypski, and Linkin Park. This is a amazing festival I really want to go again but its getting more and more expensive!
Tell me about your Pinkpop experience please!
I am also really interested in your Lowlands ( the Netherlands ) festival experience.
Or Did you ever go to Sziget festival in Hungary, I am probably going there this summer!!!
